Milano Seamen

The Milano Seamen will begin their first season in the European League of Football on June 10, 2023, as they welcome last year’s playoff participant, the Barcelona Dragons. The Italian franchise has already begun team training and announced most of its roster, including the Fonti brothers, two outstanding athletes who have made a name for themselves in Italy in recent years.
Ivan
Ivan Fonti, born on August 19, 1994, began playing Flag Football at the age of 8 before switching to American Football. Besides playing football, he also played soccer, basketball, and swam. His father was an active Wide Receiver in the 90s, and it appears that the talent runs in the family. Ivan plays as a Linebacker and has achieved several victories, including winning the IFL Championship title four times with the Seamen Milano (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019). In addition to playing, he worked as Head Coach of the Sirene Milano (Ladies) and the Girls Flag Football Teams from 2016 to 2022. In 2019, he was also a DB-Coach of the Seamen U19, where his brother Nicolò played. Besides being active in sports, he works as a Sales Manager.
Nicolò
Nicolò Fonti, Ivan’s younger brother, was born on June 15, 1998. He began playing Flag Football before transitioning to American Football – never having participated in another sport. Nicolò seems to be fully utilizing his potential on the field, playing as an Outside Linebacker and is regarded as a promising talent. He won the U19 Championship title in 2018 with the Seamen U19 Team and also received the „Best U19 Defensive Player of the Year“ award.
„I am incredibly grateful to be playing alongside my brother in the ELF this season. We have a special bond both on and off the field. We have been playing together since 2018 and we share a lot of experience. I can’t think of playing football without thinking of playing with him. Being able to share this experience with my brother means everything to me. We bring out the best in each other, and while we are sometimes in competition, I know that together, we can achieve great things as a team.“
Nicolò Fonti
The Fonti brothers are not only successful on the field, but they also have a close relationship with each other and have inherited their talent and passion for American Football from their father. The Fonti family is a well-known and respected family in the Italian football scene and has made headlines over the years.
Ivan Fonti has already gained experience in the American Football scene and is considered an indispensable part of the Seamen Milano. Nicolò Fonti is at the beginning of his senior career but has already shown that he will be a crucial member of the Seamen. Both brothers have one thing in common: they are passionate players who give everything on the field to win. With their talents and love for the sport, the Fonti brothers will undoubtedly continue to make waves in the future.
Die Milano Seamen starten am 10. Juni 2023 in ihre erste Saison in der European League of Footbal. Sie empfangen in Mailand den letztjährigen Playoff-Teilnehmer, die Barcelona Dragons. Das italienische Franchise hat bereits mit dem Mannschaftstraining begonnen und den größten Teil des Kaders bekannt gegeben. Zum Kader gehören auch die Fonti-Brüder. Zwei herausragende Athleten, die sich in den letzten Jahren in Italien einen Namen gemacht haben.
Ivan
Ivan Fonti wurde am 19. August 1994 geboren und begann im Alter von 8 Jahren mit Flag Football. Bevor er sich ganz dem American Football verschrieb, spielte er Fußball, Basketball und betrieb Schwimmen. Sein Vater war in den 90er Jahren als Wide Receiver aktiv und das Talent scheint in der Familie zu liegen. Ivan Fonti spielt Linebacker und hat bereits einige Erfolge auf seinem Konto. Mit den Seamen Milano konnte er viermal den IFL Championship Titel (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019) gewinnen. Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Spieler war er von 2016 bis 2022 auch als Head Coach der Sirene Milano (Ladies) und des Mädchen Flag Football Teams tätig. 2019 war er zudem DB-Coach der Seamen U19, in welcher sein Bruder Nicolò spielte. Neben seinen sportlichen Aktivitäten arbeitet er als Sales Manager.
Nicolò
Nicolò Fonti ist der jüngere Bruder von Ivan und wurde am 15. Juni 1998 geboren. Wie sein Bruder spielte er zunächst Flag Football, bevor er zum American Football wechselte. Er hat nie eine andere Sportart ausgeübt und scheint sein volles Potenzial auf dem Spielfeld auszuschöpfen. Er spielt Outside Linebacker und wird als vielversprechendes Talent gehandelt. Mit dem Seamen U19 Team gewann er 2018 den U19 Championship Titel. Außerdem wurde er als „Best U19 Defensive Player of the Year“ ausgezeichnet.
„Ich bin unglaublich dankbar, in dieser ELF-Saison neben meinem Bruder zu spielen. Wir haben eine besondere Bindung auf und neben dem Feld. Wir haben seit 2018 zusammen gespielt, teilen viele Erfahrungen und ich kann mir das Spielen von Football nicht ohne ihn vorstellen. Diese Erfahrung mit meinem Bruder zu teilen, bedeutet mir alles. Wir bringen das Beste in uns gegenseitig zum Vorschein, aber manchmal konkurrieren wir auch miteinander. Ich weiß jedoch, dass wir als Team großartige Dinge erreichen können.“
Nicolò Fonti
Die Brüder Fonti sind nicht nur auf dem Spielfeld erfolgreich, sie haben auch eine enge Beziehung zueinander und haben beide ihr Talent und ihre Leidenschaft für American Football von ihrem Vater geerbt. Die Familie Fonti ist eine bekannte und angesehene Familie in der italienischen Football-Szene und hat in den letzten Jahren immer wieder für Schlagzeilen gesorgt.
Ivan Fonti hat bereits einige Jahre Erfahrung in der American Football Szene gesammelt. Er ist aus der Mannschaft der Seamen Milano nicht mehr wegzudenken. Nicolò Fonti ist noch am Anfang seiner Herren Karriere und hat bereits jetzt schon gezeigt, dass er ein fester Bestandteil der Seamen sein wird. Beide Brüder haben eins gemeinsam: sie sind passionierte Spieler, die alles auf dem Spielfeld geben, um zu gewinnen. Mit ihren Talenten und ihrer Leidenschaft für den Sport werden die Brüder Fonti in Zukunft sicher noch für viel Furore sorgen.
