English: Giovanni Nanguy is ELF MVP of Week 4
Giovanni Nanguy (Hamburg Sea Devils) was awarded MVP of the Week. The edge rusher edged out Exavier Edwards (Vienna Vikings). This makes Nanguy the first Frenchman, as well as the first athlete not from the U.S. or Germany, to receive this award.
Nanguy recorded eight tackles, two sacks and three-and-a-half tackles for loss in the narrow overtime win against the Panthers Wrocław.
Gio, as Nanguy is called by his nickname, started his career with the Léopards de Rouen. Later he was already active in Germany (Lübeck Cougars, Elmshorn Fighting Pirates), before he went abroad for the third time as an import player in 2021 and signed with the Sea Devils. Last year he recorded four sacks and six tackles for loss in five ELF games, missing the remaining games due to injury.

Im Spiel gegen die Panthers Wrocław verzeichnete Nanguy acht Tackles, zwei Sacks und dreieinhalb Tackles for Loss. Damit trug er erheblich zum knappen Overtime-Sieg bei. Damit ist Nanguy der erste Franzose sowie der erste Athlet, der weder aus den USA noch aus Deutschland kommt, der diese Auszeichnung erhält.

Gio, wie Nanguy kurz genannt wird, begann seine Karriere bei den Léopards de Rouen. Später war er bereits in Deutschland aktiv (Lübeck Cougars, Elmshorn Fighting Pirates), ehe er 2021 zum dritten Mal ins Ausland als Importspieler ging und bei den Sea Devils unterschrieb. Im letzten Jahr erzielte er vier Sacks und sechs Tackles for Loss in fünf ELF-Spielen, die restlichen Spiele verpasste er verletzt.
