English: Stefan Pokorny confirmed as head coach of the Seamen
While some ELF teams are still in the middle of the season and one has not even revealed its name yet, the Seamen Milano are already busy planning for the upcoming season of the European League of Football. First the withdrawal from the Italian Football League was made official, then the Velodromo Maspes-Vigorelli was confirmed as the home ground for the ELF season. Finally, yesterday followed the announcement of Stefan Pokorny as head coach of the Seamen. Paolo Mutti was also announced to be the Head of Activities as Sports Manager.
Head Coach Stefan Pokorny
Austrian Stefan Pokorny, who had little positive to say about the new league in the Kronen Zeitung in the fall of 2021 due to the negative effects of the ELF on the AFL, has been part of the Milan club since last year. Since then, he has not only been the head coach of the IFL team, but has also been in charge of the U21 team in the same position. With the latter, he will continue to participate in the FIDAF Italian Cup, a competition in which the Seamen compete as reigning champions.
Pokorny joined the junior squad of the Danube Dragons as a player in 2000, before joining the men’s AFL team three years later. He began his coaching career in 2005 in the Dragons‘ youth program. There he was partly used as Offensive and Defensive Coordinator as well as Head Coach. For the 2013 AFL season, the 35-year-old Viennese became Defensive Coordinator under Ivan Zivko, and from November 2016 he acted as Head Coach. After his second season as head coach, he was named Coach of the Year by the league. He was also part of the coaching staff of the Austrian U19 and men’s national teams.
Paolo Mutti introduced as Head of Activities
Another important staff member is Paolo Mutti, the Seamen’s Sports Manager Head of Activities. He has been head coach of Milan for five years in the past and has led them to two Italian championships in that time. In addition, he led the U19 to four junior championships.

Gestern folgte schließlich die Bekanntgabe von Stefan Pokorny als Head Coach der Seamen. Paolo Mutti soll zudem als Sportsmanager der Head of Activities sein.
Stefan Pokorny bleibt Head Coach der Mailänder
Der Österreicher Stefan Pokorny, der im Herbst 2021 in der Kronen Zeitung ob der negativen Auswirkungen der ELF auf die AFL wenig Positives über die neue kontinentale Liga zu sagen hatte, ist seit dem letzten Jahr Teil des Mailänder Klubs. Dort ist er seitdem nicht nur Head Coach der Kampfmannschaft, sondern steht in selber Funktion auch der U21-Mannschaft vor. Mit dieser wird er auch weiterhin am FIDAF Italian Cup teilnehmen, einem Wettbewerb, bei dem die Seamen als amtierender Meister an den Start gehen.

Zur AFL-Saison 2013 wurde der 35-jährige Wiener Defensive Coordinator unter Ivan Zivko, ab November 2016 fungierte er als Head Coach. Nach seiner zweiten Saison als Cheftrainer wurde er von der Liga zum Coach of the Year gekürt. Darüber hinaus war er auch Teil des Coaching Staffs der österreichischen U19- und Herren-Nationalmannschaft.

Eine weitere wichtige Personalie ist Paolo Mutti, der Sportsmanager Head of Activities der Seamen. Er war in der Vergangenheit bereits fünf Jahre lang Head Coach der Mailänder gewesen und hat sie in dieser Zeit zu zwei italienischen Meisterschaften geführt. Darüber hinaus führte er die U19 zu vier Junioren-Meisterschaften.
