English: Max Nacewicz retires

Just a few days before the Barcelona Dragons will make their trip to Stuttgart for the opening match against Surge, they lost a key player. So the US-American Max Nacewicz announced his retirement on Instagram. Here is his statement:

“Football has been something that I have been playing since the age of 6 and I truly loved every second of it. This is a sport that demands 100% commitment and a level of obsession if you want to be successful. At this point in my life I have decided to retire from the sport that has given me so much over these past 22 years. To my family, friends, coaches, and all my trainers that have supported me throughout my career, I cant put into words what that means to me. Although this decision saddens me, I know this is the right decision for my future. I feel fortunate that I was able to spend almost a quarter century of my life doing something I love. I am Looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life and finally getting closure with the sport I love so much.”

Max Nacewicz (born June 5, 1993) attended Newtown High School, before being recruited by Springfield College. He later lined up for the Tampa Bay Storm in the Arena Football League and the Saarland Hurricanes in the GFL. We wish him all the best for his future!
