English: Centurions have found their quarterback

The Cologne Centurions have found their quarterback for the 2023 season. With Daniel Smith, a NCAA Division 1 proven playmaker comes to Cologne, who attracted attention with first-class performances in his three years at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. In 2021 he participated in the NFL Draft and was able to prove his skills at the New York Jets Mini Camp. Unfortunately, it was not enough to
jump into the NFL.
Daniel Smith is an exceptional athlete who was responsible for a total of 48 touchdowns already in his rookie season in 2019. He proved to be a very effective quarterback in his three years at Villanova, distributing the ball well to his teammates and leading the way as a leader on the field. He can run the ball and is confident throwing from the pocket.
The athlete from Leesburg, Virginia, gained his first experience in Germany with the Saarland Hurricanes. Together with Cologne’s new Offense Coordinator Christos Lambropoulos, he now comes from the Saar to the Rhine, where the two want to continue their successful cooperation.

Mit Daniel Smith kommt ein NCAA Division 1 erprobter Spielmacher nach Köln, der in seinen drei Jahren bei der Villanova University in Pennsylvania mit erstklassigen Leistungen auf sich aufmerksam machte. Im Jahr 2021 nahm er am NFL Draft teil und konnte sein Können auch beim Mini Camp der New York Jets unter Beweis stellen. Leider reichte es nicht zum Sprung in die NFL.
Daniel Smith ist ein außergewöhnlicher Athlet, der schon in seiner ersten Saison bei Villanova 2019 für insgesamt 48 Touchdowns verantwortlich war. Er erwies sich in seinen drei Jahren bei Villanova als sehr effektiver Quaterback, der die Bälle gut an seine Mitspieler verteilt und als Leader auf dem Platz voran geht. Er kann den Ball laufen und ist wurfsicher aus der Pocket. Seine ersten Erfahrungen in Deutschland sammelte der aus Leesburg in Virginia stammende Sportler bei den Saarland Hurricanes. Zusammen mit Kölns neuem Offense Coordinator Christos Lambropoulos kommt er nun von der Saar an den Rhein, wo die beiden ihre erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit fortsetzen wollen.
